Integrated Pest Management (IPM) - What it means.
Integrated Pest Management is all about anticipating pest activity and infestation using the combination of several strategies which hand in hand provide long term solutions. An IPM program may include education, effective waste management practices, structural repair or maintenance, biological and mechanical control, and pesticide application.
Benefits of IPM.
- Improved communication between technician and client
- Immediate Feedback
- Less Pesticide Use Indoors
- More Permanent Solutions
The Gladiator IPM Program. ( Battle Plan )
- Property Inspection: I will complete thorough inspection of your property, identifying possible harbourages, food sources, and entry points. Each type of pest and the degree of infestation will be identified. This information will help me to tailor the most appropriate pest management plan to suit your property.
- Prevention: There is more to pest control than just killing pests. If we can prevent pests from entering your home, and remove pest harbourages and food sources, we can reduce the amount of chemical control required.
- Monitoring: Careful monitoring of pest activity detects population increases or decreases, as well as previously undiscovered food sources and travel paths. When threshold levels are exceeded control measures are increased.
- Control: Appropriate mechanical traps, baits, biological controls, physical barriers or pesticide treatments are used to control pest populations both indoors and out. The outside perimeter and harbourage sites are treated to help keep pest populations low. Our invoice lists all actions, mechanical, chemical or otherwise, taken by the technician.
- Evaluation: The technician and the homeowner evaluate the program's effectiveness and make adjustments to the program if needed.
